How To Knit
I hope you will follow my knitting instructions. I wanted to set out some basic knitting instructions as a refresher so here it is. Knitting has gone through trade guilds and cottage industries, and the invention and improvement of knitting machines.
The upper red course is purled into the row below and then is knit, consistent with garter stitch. Extra curvature can be introduced into knitted garments without seams, as in the heel of a sock; the effect of darts, flares, etc. These few basic knitting instructions are the foundation of any project you will ever knit. For those of us who knit, there is almost nothing more relaxing than watching a row of neat, organized stitches line up on your knitting needles.
There are old favourites such as books and magazines. If you are beginner then start with a no pattern, this means just start by knitting with a combination of just two basic stitches, knit and purl. In the knit stitch on the left, the next (red) loop passes through the previous (white) loop from below, whereas in the purl stitch (right), the next stitch enters from above.
It will just some time at the beginning, but you will learn and get experience. You will have only one new stitch from two.
