Knitting Pattern Girl's Kimono Sweater - just like grandma used to do it
Knitting Pattern Girl's Kimono Sweater
I hope you will follow my knitting instructions. Ordinarily, stitches are knitted in the same order in every row, and the wales of the fabric run parallel and vertically along the fabric. If you are looking for the perfect gift for that special newborn baby, why not consider a knit baby blanket?
With your right index finger, wrap yarn counterclockwise around and down the right needle. If you do not understand the written instructions do check out some of these videos. You can mix and match as many colors as you desire and you can incorporate different designs into your knit baby blanket.
More complicated techniques permit large fields of colour (intarsia, for example), busy small-scale patterns of color (such as Fair Isle), or both (double knitting and slip-stitch colour, for example). Plied yarns may themselves be plied together, producing cabled yarns or multi-stranded yarns. Various closures for the garments, such as frogs and buttons can be added; usually buttonholes are knitted into the garment, rather than cut. The other advantage is that these patterns are in effect free.
Knitted garments became fashionable for the wealthy upper class, and silk gloves and stockings were highly prized. The two extra stitches add balance to the pattern. For example, differently colored leaves and petals of a flower could be knit separately and applied to form the final picture. Extra curvature can be introduced into knitted garments without seams, as in the heel of a sock; the effect of darts, flares, etc.
Take your time and understand the information on this site and you will be able to knit anything you want. It will just some time at the beginning, but you will learn and get experience.
